Steenbeck in the field of cosmical electrodynamics have been nearly inaccessible or only appeared in the German language. The authors felt that a collection of their most important translated papers might be useful to the field. The translations of fourteen papers are presented here which cover the following topics: the dynamo theory of stellar and planetary magnetic fields, the electrodynamics of conducting fluids in turbulent motion, and the mean field hydrodynamics of turbulent flow.
